Congrats.
I've been debating on whether I should take the exam myself. Oracle seems to be putting a tight leash around mysql. Does this concern you any? I've briefly looked at the certification page on mysql.com. Looks like mysql certifications are broken down into tracks - Developer/Administrator. Then each track contains 2 tests. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Which did you get? Do you have any recommendations on how i should prepare myself for the certification(s) which you've taken.(time spent studying/material to study..ect)
The exam I took was early in September, and so it was still 4.1. Accordingly, the certification is still called "Core" (now Developer I+II) and "Pro" (now Administrator I+II).
I used the MySQL 4.1. study guide and the online manual to prepare myself for the exam. I also joined freenode:#mysql on Irc and tried to answer support questions for a few weeks. I felt that I needed real questions and problems in order to validate my knowledge and get a feel for what "other" problems than those in the books may be occuring in the real world, and that Irc channel is a cheap source for support questions of varying degrees of difficulty.
Sorry still a little confused.
Did you take: a) the Core Exam b) the Pro Exam c) both Core and Pro How much was the test?
I did take both exams, and as they are a job requirement my employer (MySQL Deutschland GmbH) paid for it.
